To improve the experience for customers that utilize VoIP desk phones or the mobile/desktop app, the Web Gateway (WGW) will be updated to accommodate the growing demand for One Talk. The updates are scheduled to start on 9/1/23 and will be completed by 9/30/23. Customers that requested and are using the "One Talk Source IP document" containing the precise technical information (Ports, Protocols and IP addresses) needed to configure their on prem Security Devices (Firewalls, Intrusion detection systems, etc.) to restrict traffic to IP addresses leading directly to the Web Gateway will need to be aware of the important information below.
IMPORTANT: If you have configured your Security devices to:
- Use the FQDN (fully qualified domain name) provided in the Source IP document - no action is required.
- Use the FQDN (fully qualified domain name) and IP Addresses provided in the Source IP document to configure their firewall to only resolve to those addresses - customers will need to take action.
- Not use the FQDN (fully qualified domain name) provided in the Source IP document, and, instead hardcoded the individual IP addresses for each device type - customers will need to take action.
ACTION REQUIRED: Only utilize the FQDN for all Signaling traffic for both the Desk Phones and Mobile/Desktop Apps. In the event you are unable to use FQDN's, you must ensure that you are using ALL IP addresses listed in the Source IP document to ensure that you are able to reach a system not being upgraded.
